Take time to smell the roses, and a whole horde of other lovely flowers, plants, and fruits that seem to zap stress.

Roses as well as lavender, basil, orange, grape, mango, and lemon all contain a special compound called linalool, the smell of which apparently reduces anxiety.

Sense of smell. There are a variety of scented oils and candles one can use to relieve stress.  The combination of both strong scented candles and oils is known to increase the effectiveness of anxiety reduction. Make sure to use scented candles/oils that are appealing to you and your senses. Popular scents are rose, mandarin, peppermint, clary sage, lemon balm and lavender.  Some fragrances that are often recommended to lower stress level is the scent of roses, lavender, geranium, jasmine, neroli, sweet orange or ylang ylang.
Scents which are calming and healing
Amyris (West Indian Sandalwood) - Antiseptic, sedative, calming and an aid to stress relief. A muscle relaxant, emollient and soothing agent. Widely used as a room or mood fragrance which helps aid meditation.

Bergamot - Emotionally encouraging, uplifting and balancing to the spirit. In skincare, it works well on acne, oily skin, scarring. Has strong antiseptic and anti-viral qualities.

Black Pepper - Warming and strengthening to muscles. It is good for cold or wasting muscles, old injuries, stiffness and sciatica. Is naturally analgesic (relieves pain). Stimulant of digestive processes.

Camphor - The chemical constituents of Camphor Essential Oil attribute it with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, carminative, diuretic, insecticide, and laxative properties. Camphor oil has been used in the treatment of nervous depression, acne, inflammation, arthritis, muscular aches and pains, sprains, rheumatism, bronchitis, coughs, colds, fever, flu and infectious diseases. It is a well-known repellent of moths and other insects, and is an ingredient in moth balls.

Cedarwood - Good for soothing coughs and congestion. Relieves itching and makes a great scalp conditioner. Emotionally, it can calm anxiety and help diffuse fear and is spiritually enhancing.

Chamomile - Very soothing and calming to the mind and emotions. Anti-inflammatory for the skin and a classic remedy for children and stress. 

Cranberry Chutney - A Sweet Tangy blend of cranberries, raisins and apples. Truly Awesome!

Eucalyptus - A classic remedy for respiratory complaints. Has strong anti-viral and diuretic properties. It plays a dual role in hot or cold compresses for arthritis, muscular aches and pains. Is cooling to the skin but warming to the muscles.

Geranium - Harmonizing and balancing. Is great for dry or oily skin types, as well as acne and bruising. Effective emotional balancer, helps with mood swings. Good for PMS, menopausal disorders.

Grapefruit - An effective airborne antiseptic. Is uplifting and refreshing to the mind and emotions. Has a high vitamin C content because it is a citrus PEO.   Is great for acne and congested skin. Tones the tissue

Juniper - Detoxifying and diuretic, an effective lymphatic cleanser. For the skin, it is very decongesting, antiseptic. Works well for acne, oily skin. Calming to the mind and good for stress related conditions.

Lavender - General balancer that is the most versatile PEO. Is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.  Great for treating burns, scalds, acne, athlete's foot, insect bites and in wound care.  Both soothing and sedative, it helps in mood swings and headaches and is very calming; aids in restoring balance to the body and spirit.

Lemon - Strong germicide and astringent. Potent cleanser and tonic that is mentally refreshing and uplifting.  Good fever reducer and immune system stimulant to use in treating colds and fevers. Helpful in treating acne, boils and warts.

Mental Clarity Type (Essential Oil Blend) - The oils in this Mental Clarity Synergy Blend are believed to enhance mental focus; try this product when working on large projects and those tasks requiring clear and decisive mental thought.

Marjoram (Sweet) - Warming and sedative. Is great for clearing the head, but is an extremely strong sedative. Warming and soothing for sore muscles old injuries and cold, 

Nutmeg - Mental stimulant. An excellent digestive stimulant. Used to treat nausea, indigestion, and vomiting. Anti-inflammatory and is useful in treating arthritis. Gently warming to sore, achey muscles and joints

Orange - Orange oil is taking from  Orange peel extract. It is very popular around the as fresh fruit that can improve mood, and cleanse the body. Orange which is I scientific language called citrus sinesis, contains aromatherapy that is able to clear the mind and increase concentration.

Peppermint (Pure Essential Oil) - : Peppermint Japanese Essential Oil has long been credited as being useful in combating stomach ailments. It is also viewed as an antispasmodic and antimicrobial agent. Of course, most people will associate it with being a flavoring or scenting agent in foods, beverages, skin and hair care products (where it has a cooling effect by constricting capillaries and helping with bruises and sore joints).

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil - This oil has a soft, friendly scent that can help you sleep well as night and it's anti-inflammatory properties help soothe away your migraine.

Wintergreen - Wintergreen Essential Oil has a history of use as a pain reliever. It is also believed to increase the speed of healing for skin disorders, and when added to lotions, acts as a natural moisturizer.
